Help Feed the Kids Night
Evergreen Centre for Youth has become an integral part of the Yonge Street Missions strategy to help young people build meaningful lives away from the streets. With an average of over 5,700 visits per month for breakfasts, the Drop-In and Art Centres as well as the Health and Employment Resource Centre, they are coming closer to accomplishing their goal.
Mainstay Insurance Brokerage Inc. is just one of many corporate sponsors that assists the cause by providing hot meals to youth in the fall, winter and spring months. You too can make a difference by making a donation to the Evergreen meal program, volunteering as a server at one of our meals, or getting yourself, staff or business involved.
As a volunteer server at one of the Mainstay Insurance Brokerage Inc. dinners, the evening begins by arriving at 3:00 - 3:15 p.m. to prepare the dinner. A tour of the facilities follows. Upon completing the tour, dinner is served to the youth (cafeteria style) from 5:00 - 6:00. Cleanup follows and volunteers are out the door and on their way by 6:30 p.m. Attire can be as casual as you desire but dress clothes are fine and aprons are provided.
By helping out you will; assist youth to get a healthy meal in a safe place, learn more about the social programs around us, feel good by giving back to our community and have a great time. To volunteer please e-mail us at: info@mainstayinsurance.ca or call (905) 886-9203 for more details
The Evergreen Centre is located at 381 Yonge Street, just south of Gerard on the east side. A pay parking lot is available on the south side of Gerard just west of Yonge or under the Delta Chelsea Hotel nearer Yonge. Costs range based on entry time and ranges (about $16). If traveling by the TTC, Gerard is south of the College Station or north of the Dundas station on the east side.
If you are interested in sponsoring a dinner the cost is $350 and cheques are made payable to “The Yonge Street Mission” with “Evergreen Dinner Program” referenced on the RE: line of the cheque. Tax receipts will be issued.
